Welcome Meeting

building Bridges serves students who have been suspended or expelled from their zone school. Once assigned, students must attend a scheduled Welcome Meeting (Intake Meeting).

The meeting brings together the student, family, and school to:

• Complete enrollment requirements

• Review Building Bridges expectations and procedures

• Identify student needs and available supports

• Answer questions and establish clear responsibilities

Phase 1: Enrollment/Registration

Parents or guardians will complete the district’s standard enrollment packet in person.

Please bring:

• Valid photo ID

• Proof of residency dated within the last 30 days

• All other required enrollment documents

Phase 2: Building Bridges Expectations

**The student must attend Phase 2.

Students and families will review key Building Bridges procedures, expectations, and supports, including:

• Check-in procedures

• Lunch protocols

• Cell phone policy

• Attendance expectations

• Dismissal procedures

• Technology procedures

• School rules and behavioral expectations

• Specialized educational plans

• Health and medication concerns

• Community referrals and support services

Staff will answer questions, address individual needs, and ensure that students and families understand program expectations and available supports.

Important: Transportation

SCCPSS does NOT provide transportation for Welcome Meetings. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that the student attends the scheduled meeting.
